Jack the Wonder Horse lived to be the oldest horse in the barn at 33 years old! He was a gift from the Paulys to Leslie because he outlived his owner and they wanted him to live out the rest of his days in peace and quiet. Mr. Pauly was an avid foxhunter for most of Jack’s life, which gave Jack the attitude of “been there, done that, doesn’t bother me”.
Jack passed away at the end of the summer in 2015. He spent 11 years in “retirement” at Scotsgrove and taught so many of our riders. For many he was their first horse and a true friend and teacher. He was our Golden Boy, our Gentle Giant, and a true wonder. He leaves a big hole in the barn, but we know he is across the Rainbow Bridge with all the scratchings he can get, all the clover to munch on, and all the pretty mares surrounding him!
